NEVER Buy Anything Made By AMERICAN HOME.

When I first set out on my own here in Makati, I had bought me first, an American Home kettle, then an American Home rice cooker. The kettle had conked out sometime in February, so I had it fixed. The rice cooker died on me when I had boiled water in it (it was too late for the water shop to be open), and then slept while the water was boiling. Yes, it was a good thing that my room did not burn down, but it's not a nice thing when your kettle has been replaced with a "new" one, and still, it... Leaked within a few days of use. I had claimed it on Thursday, the 27th of March, 2008, and it leaked again today, the 31st of March.

How cute.

So yeah, NEVER buy anything by the brand AMERICAN HOME. You'll just have a huge headache with the item.

Buti pa yung Marubishi ko na electric fan. Kahit maingay at nakakainis linisin, buhay pa rin hanggang ngayon. :p

Brands are so deceptive. I think I shall revert to Tatay's age-old lesson: buy a brand for quality and durability. Geesh. There are days when pagtitipid does not apply.

But in fairness to American Home, I had purchased the original kettle in either October or November, and the rice cooker in December. But still! The National rice cooker we had at home lasted us since 1993! It's still alive!

I guess I fell for the rice cooker's cuteness. Grr. But it was my fault for the most part, anyway.

What I HATE, HATE, HATE, is the tooooooooopid kettle.

It's so sleek kasi. I wish Asahi had released its kettles even then. Grrr!

I wonder if it's worth it to bring the item back to American Home again.

I am really really irritated.

I wanted hot Milo, and now I have to boil water in my cooker! Wut the!

Okay, enough ranting. I'm just warning y'all would-be independent people. No American Home products for you, else you risk wanting to march to the company and shake their products to their faces. Grrrrrrrr!

Shipping costs are not included yet; will update for the shipping costs.

These are pre-order; I will not charge you to reserve because we have to order these directly from China as yet. But if you need it urgently, you can deposit in our bank and we will have it shipped here ASAP. There are risks you see, and we don't want to risk capital for joy "buyers" who won't get the item after all. I had a deal with my supplier that I will wait till I can get a quota of five SURE buyers before I order. No reservations needed, as these are C.O.D.

But if you are sure and you can trust our integrity, then you can do a bank deposit with my supplier and we'll put priority to your orders.

If you need to check the background of my supplier, PM me and I will send you the company name. As for me, I am still in the process of securing my business permits, but I have always tried to conduct my affairs in integrity.

And take note, THESE ARE ALL BRAND NEW.

New Year Raffle

You just have to hand it to Yuga, a.k.a Abe Olandres. He’s currently giving away prizes. All one needs to do to get a chance to win is just to link up his blog. It's a wise move in more ways than one, heheh.

For those of you who don’t know who Yuga of Yugatech is, he’s only one of the most prominent, if not THE most prominent of the SEO trailblazers in my country. He’s currently the Main Man on the scene, and the way I see it, seems like everything he touches turns to gold.

As I said, this promo of his is a shrewd business move in more ways than one.

For one, it brings good PR. I believe that Yuga seems to be a good guy. I have yet to come across a bad blog post about him, after all. Though I don’t know him personally, I already admire him for being a fellow Ilonggo and a trailblazer and leader-of-the-pack in this world of pro-blogging in the Philippines. This promo of his made him all the more respectable, in my book, because this shows generosity.

But you have to admit, this promo of his brings more than PR. It actually has several, absolutely sensible moneymaking strategies attached to it.

1) It actually promotes his own company, plogHost.com in a win-win way. While it may seem like he just threw away a year’s worth of hosting for two clients, which translates to revenue his way, in the world of shrewd business strategies, it’s actually much like a Bishop being put out to set the scene for a “checkmate”: the two winners of his promo may get a year free, but if they like the hosting plan they got, and would like to stay on, then Yuga wins for years to come.

2) If the winners like the hosting plan (so far I’m liking the speed with which the sites hosted on Yuga load), then he promotes it to his friends! What’s more, Yuga may ask for a linkie or credits back to ploghost, which is more than a fair del. Ergo, advertisement and promotion galore!

3) The many people who will be linkie linkie-ing up his promo post and the two sponsors, Auction.ph and his own company, plogHost.com, will be giving them so much link love, they’ll rise up the ranks of Google results.

4) The many links and the consequent hits back to his site will generate more AdSense credits.

So is it shrewd or is it SHREWD?!

You just gotta hand it to Yuga! ;)

But his disclosure made the promo all the more credible and it showed his integrity. ;) Rock on, Yuga!
